Response to AY2021 Second Semester Regular Examination
Due to the nationwide surge in COVID-19 infections with the omicron variant, all the
classes are moved to online instruction from January 11 in order to prevent infectious
spread on campus. However, the number of confirmed cases continues to rapidly increase
in Shimane, making the situation highly unpredictable.
In response to the current situation, it was decided at the COVID-19 Countermeasures
Meeting held on January 18 that the phase of the Shimane University Action Guidelines
is set 2. Students' entry to campus is prohibited, as a rule. You may use the library,
cafeteria and shops on campus while taking all necessary measures to prevent infection.
Therefore, classes are continuously offered online only, as a rule. Face-to-face AY2021
second semester regular examinations are prohibited, as a rule. Instead, they should be
replaced by alternative measures.
You will be given further instructions regarding the classes and examinations via Campus
Square and Shimane University Moodle. Please be sure to follow the instructions. Entry to
campus may be permitted in case that the classes/research activities are essential to
graduation and cannot be conducted online only when approved in advance.
Those who have difficulty taking online classes due to poor internet environment at their
home can use the classroom which is temporarily available for taking online classes.
Please make an application for the room from the link below.
We ask that you fully understand the purpose of this measure to prevent further infectious
spread, be thorough on infectious prevention measures, and behave moderately.
