The Japanese government has established the “Student Emergency Support Grant”, a new emergency financial support program for students facing difficulties continuing their studies due to reasons such as a decrease in part-time job income due to the COVID-19 outbreak (Cabinet decision, May 19.)
This program aims to provide cash urgently to students who are facing difficulties continuing their studies due to a substantial decrease in part-time job income due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Target students
Those who are financially independent from their family in their home country and cover school fees with their own part-time job income, and are facing difficulties continuing their studies due to a substantial decrease in part-time job income due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Target students
Those who are financially independent and cover their school fees by their own part time job income, and are facing difficulties to continue their studies due to decrease in part time job income under the COVID-19 outbreak.
Grant amount
Students exempted from residence tax 200,000JPY
Students other than those above 100,000JPY
Application
Complete the forms below and submit them along with other necessary documents which show you meet the requirements. Send the application materials to the contact found at the bottom of the page by 17:00 on 【June 10】 (Applications sent by post must arrive by June 10.)
