【IMPORTANT】Change in Academic Calendar 2020 (Classes to start on May 7)
In light of the novel coronavirus infectious spread in Japan, Shimane University has decided to delay the start of the 2020 first semester classes until April 14, placing priority on the health and safety of our students and other persons concerned.
However, seeing the current situation of the infectious disease, we have come to the conclusion to postpone again the start of classes as below. Shimane University has deemed this as a better measure to provide education services while ensuring our students’ safety.
Also, please note our request regarding classes stated below.
Start of Classes : :May 7 (originally scheduled on April 14)
All classes will as a rule be moved to virtual (online) instruction.
【Request to students】
Please ready your PC, tablet and/or smartphone for virtual instruction. Details shall be announced on the university’s official website at a later date.
In the case you are unable to ready the above equipment, consult your faculty office.
Guidance for newly enrolled students is scheduled next week (April 14 to 17) by each faculty. You will be notified of the date by email from the faculty to which you belong.
We understand that many of you are concerned in these difficult times, but campus leaders are dedicated to managing a safe study environment for all students. Please check the university’s website and your email inbox every day for further updates.
Also, please continue to closely monitor your health condition until classes start on May 7, and avoid non-essential outings.
